And for my next trick

Saw this cyclist doing some serious breaking on the boardwalk a couple of weeks back and thought it would make a neat photo. More of a snapshot, really, but it’s Monday so I’m aloud to slack off a bit.

Big Log on Beach

So I got out today for a little clickity clickity with da camera. Yesterday was just crappy and today really wasn’t all that better. I also just wasn’t “feeling” it, if you know what I mean. The sky was dull and so were my senses. I did manage to get a couple of shots that, after a bit of post processing, I am happy with. This is one of them. This shot was taken on the beach (Lake Ontario). Obviously I did more than a bit of post processing. Hope you like it.

Watching the painter

Here’s another photo of the sidewalk artist down at Dundas Square in the heart of Toronto from a while ago. I thought the two kids with their mom watching was touching.

The ol’ bar and grill gone

When I was a teenager there was this old bar & grill / pool hall at Main St. & Gerrard St. that was so rough we all stayed away from it. It was filled with drunks and druggies looking for trouble. It’s been closed up for years now. Well, the other day I was walking by and noticed the side door open. I stuck my head in and the place was a mess, in the process of being gutted for a reno. There was a guy sweeping up and I asked him if I could snapped some photos and he said sure. I think they turned out pretty nice. Here’s the first of a few I got that I like.

Pipes on a wall

Saw this arrangement of pipes on a wall on Yonge St. just south of Front St. and thought it might make an interesting photo. It was a bit boring before I dialled it up in post processing. Hope you like it. Happy Saturday. Looks like we’re getting a stormy one here in Toronto.

Behind the AGO

Firstly, for those not in the know, AGO stands for Art Gallery of Ontario. This photo was taken in the park behind the AGO last winter during an outing with Mauro. It’s one of Toronto’s finer examples of good architecture, designed by famous Canadian-born architect Frank Gehry.

Door #1 or Door #2, which will it be?

Trust me, they look worse in person. 🙂 Not sure what’s behind them but I’d stick with the Hamilton Beach toaster oven if I were you. This photo comes to you from Commissioner St. down along Toronto’s waterfront. I’ve got a couple more of this building to show you at a later date. Happy Friday.

Street from Above

This photo was taken from a footbridge that connects Gerrard Square Mall to the street on the other side of the tracks. This is actually crossing over the same train tracks in the previous photo but miles west. Gerrard Square is located near Gerrard St. and Carlaw Ave. in Toronto’s east end.

Skywatch Friday from the Main St. Bridge

Boy lately the skies have been terrific here in Toronto. I’ve managed to garner plenty of photos for Skywatch Friday. This one was taken in east Toronto on the Main St. bridge, facing west towards downtown. You can see the CN Tower and Toronto skyline in the distance. Hope you like it.

Tattoo You!

Saw this girl walking in front of me near Union Station in downtown Toronto and thought her tat’ would make a neat photo (although I’m not big on tats on women). I was carrying my camera in one hand and simply pointed it at her and snapped the shot without having a clue to what I might catch. For guesstimate aiming I think it came out not bad. I’ve taken a few shots like this, actually. It’s fun to see how they’ll come out. Hope you like it.
