Fargo Tuff!

Here’s another photo of that old Dodge pickup down at the Distillery District. I took this one last weekend with Mauro. I think it would make a neat HDR image, although I didn’t bother this time. Just cranked up the contrast and a bit of added saturation and tweaked the colours a spec. Hope you like it.

I love old trucks (as seen here: http://milkayphoto.wordpress.com/2009/10/07/hey-nice-truck/) Awesome photo, Dave! I would have titled it “Here’s lookin’ at you with one good eye”. 🙂

Thanks! Here’s a truck poem for you, albeit not about this truck.

and i also conjured an older poem with the mention of truck:

i like it when you call me
as if i were a Mack truck
      going down
      and across, vicariously
      into your lane, with no
      warning before
      collision. i like it especially
      when you call me
      in the middle of
      when, with no-nonsense
      hands, you are an-
      into conjuring up
      that cold-blooded swan
      within your classic
      clod of ice

        and another:

it sounded like rain this morning
        with the sun stalled
        behind six or eight
        wheels of a galumphing
        garbage truck.
        braking every two
        seconds, one can almost
        smell the wet tires
        pressing rain into burnt
        waffles across an asphalt
        belt. something got jammed
        in the door and dragged
for three yards before i noticed
        a splash of torn
        in a rearview mirror –
the fabric of my tattered sleep

Wow, they are both amazing and clever. I love that sort of poetry.

(laugh) thanks…it happens way too often – the garbage truck sounds sneaking into my sleep. but i always love the sound of cars splashing in the rain.

  3. Although I am not a big HDR fan, this would be a perfect shot for that treatment. Nice image.

how’d you set up the voting? i just voted a “now we’re cooking!” twice – on this same post…

Thanks!!! If you go to your dashboard and check the rating settings, you’ll find your choices there. It’s a new thing, to show the voting button on the main page.

LOVE this picture. And yes, it would make a fabulous HDR.
