Dangerous Arachnid Closeup

SpiderWeb-12-EDIT

So here I am 7:15 AM minding my own over a bowl of oatmeal porridge when I notice something flapping in the breeze in the maple tree in my backyard. Better grab the camera for this, I think. Fortuitously, a small spider had weaved its sticky web and the morning sun happened to be at just that right angle to illuminate the critter and his handywork. I set my camera to macro mode and my phaser to stun and snapped a few photographs. I love macro photography, but my wee point & shoot struggles with such delicate work. I took three good photos of the spider, had him sign a release form, then slipped back inside to finish my breakfast. Talk about a lucky break.

Wonderful web. Remember it’s not the equipment but the eye of the photographer + you have an excellent eye
